PUBLIC/PRODUCTS LIABILITY

Sometimes known as “Broadform Liability” or “General Liability”, this insurance aims to provide cover for claims made by third parties who have suffered property damage,  personal injury or advertising injury as a result of your negligence.

All entities carrying out any type of business, profession or trade should have a minimum of $10,000,000 liability cover. In many cases, $20,000,000 is required.

An example of a public liability claim is a customer tripping over in your shop. A product liability claim could be made due to the incorrect installation of a baby seat causing injury.

Costs and expenses associated with investigating, defending and settling a claim should all be covered under a good liability policy.
